All works selected by FNC must comply with the following premiere status requirements:
All works which do not comply with these premiere status requirements (meaning works that have been broadcast on television, screened publicly in theaters or online prior to the festival dates) are not eligible for consideration.
Feature Film- Early Bird > from March 15 to April 30: 40 USD- Regular > from May 1st to May 31: 45 USD- Last Minute > from June 1st to June 15: 55 USD
Short Film / New Media Work- Early Bird > from March 15 to April 30: 35 USD- Regular > from May 1st to May 31: 40 USD- Last Minute > from June 1st to June 15: 50 USD
Please note that submission fees will not be refunded if an applicant decides to withdraw a submission.

Off-beat, unique, rallying, bold, innovative, festive, ... Montreal Festival du nouveau cinéma (FNC) celebrates all aspects of the 7th art that reinvent the cinematographic language. Through its different sections, the festival pursues its mission of supporting and showcasing major works, as well as offering a platform to introduce the authentic and diverse works by emerging artists. New tendencies, new technological and narrative horizons, Quebecois, Canadian and international discoveries, highly anticipated films, short and feature lengths, documentary, fiction and experimental, new media works; the cinema and all sorts of moving images await you at the festival!
