Curtis LaForche, a likeable family man mired in depression, is haunted by apocalyptic visions. His friends and his family history lead him to think he should get help, but he can’t stop himself from working on the bunker in his backyard. The second feature by Jeff Nichols, Take Shelter is a deep dive into eco-anxiety – before the term gained popular currency – and the difficulty of addressing the environmental catastrophe without indulging in climate-change denial or descending into madness. The film, built on breathtaking images, sparked a new round of environmental debate.

The screening will be introduced by Luc Ferrandez and followed by a discussion about eco-anxiety with Laure Waridel (eco-sociologist, co-founder of Équiterre, writer and speaker).
