Rubio de Camelle is a deep-sea diver who has recovered the bodies of over forty shipwreck victims. He lives in a coastal village in Galicia, where time seems to have crystallized and people still talk of ghosts, witches and the dead. There, age-old legends of treacherous waters, sailors lost at sea and monsters still hold sway. The second feature from artist Lois Patiño dives into the hostile seas of his native Galicia, a tangible yet imagined place where reality and myth, death and the ocean merge with all their physical and mythical force.

“A challenging work which punctuates taxing stretches of austere stasis with interludes of sublime beauty.“ “[It] steers into the tranquil waters of the romantic sublime.” The Hollywood Reporter
