A masterclass of Gustav Deutsch, animated by André Habib, Professor at Université de Montréal.
Gustav Deutsch (Shirley, Film Ist), a leading figure in international found-footage cinema, produces monumental ‘remixes’ of film history that draw on every conceivable genre, from fiction and documentary to fantasy, advertising and scientific films. After years of combing through numerous archives worldwide, Deutsch delivers clips that, in their juxtaposition, question the very essence of cinema. His films have always been informed by his profound grasp of the sensory side of cinema, even when at its most "banal" in apparence (think home movies and amateur films).
