FIND OUT THE SURPRISE FILM OF THE FESTIVAL!

15_10_2013
The second week of the Festival has started and it is still full of surprises.
We are proud to announce DALLAS BUYERS CLUB on Saturday, October 19th at 1:00 pm at Cinema Excentris, in Présentation spéciale. Directed by Jean-Marc Vallée, the film stages Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner and Jared Leto and it is distributed by Remstar Films.

When Texan cowboy Ron Woodroof is diagnosed with HIV, he is prescribed a highly toxic drug and given thirty days to live. Refusing to accept this death sentence, Woodroof taps into the world of underground pharmaceuticals and becomes a kingpin of an unapproved alternative treatment that is both restorative and life extending. Woodroof struggles with the FDA as he helps spread awareness of the government’s misinformation, taking a stand against the politically corrupt who prefer to profit from the sick instead of aiding them in their recovery.

• Sarah Préfère la Course, by Chloé Robichaud

UN CERTAIN REGARD, FESTIVAL DE CANNES 2013

During the screening of Sarah préfère la course, I’ll be on hand providing live commentary. This is a one-of-a-kind experience that will give the audience some insight into my goals as a director. I’ll also tell some stories from behind the scenes and comment on the lessons I learned while shooting. — Chloé Robichaud

Rendez-vous on October 11 at 5 pm at Pavillon Judith-Jasmin annexe (Cinema 1), 1564 Rue St-Denis Métro Berri-UQAM (free entry, in the limit of available seats).

• Vic+Flo ont vu un Ours, by Denis Côté

SILVER BEAR, BERLINALE 2013

Too often, the only chance we get to hear a filmmaker discuss his or her work is the lukewarm ritual of watching bonus features on the DVD at home. The Vic+Flo experience is an invitation to look through the keyhole and discover a few genuine secrets. Louis Malle liked to say that he preferred for the audience to leave with questions rather than answers. Just this once, let’s disappoint him. — Denis Côté
Rendez-vous at Cinema du Parc October 16 at 5 pm (free entry in the limit of available seats).
