The Festival du nouveau cinéma is proud to welcome today at 7:30PM at the Cinéma du Parc, filmaker and cinematographer Ed Lachman (Ken Park, I’m not there, Far from heaven, Erin Brockovich, The Virgin Suicides). He will present tonight LIFE FOR A CHILD, a documentary on three cases of nepalese children afflicted with diabetes. Ed Lachman says “This film took me to Nepal to film three stories about juvenile diabetes. The lives of the families dealing with this problem are extremely challenging, but to be impoverished and living in a developing country with this disease is even more daunting. Diabetes is emerging as one of the most serious health problems of our time; a global epidemic with devastating human, social and economic consequences. This disease claims as many lives per year as HIV/AIDS.”
Presented in association with the Fondation de la recherche sur le diabète juvénile, the money raised by this screening will be given to the fight against diabetes.
