After Ceux de la colline, Berni Goldblat films the coming-of-age ofa Burkinabe teen. After his father sends him to live with his uncle onthe other side of the Mediterranean, young Ady, who lives on the roughoutskirts of Paris, is forced to learn his family’s way of life. In a style evocativeof his past as a documentary filmmaker, the Swiss-Burkinabedirector delivers a naturalistic, affectionate and sensitive depiction ofhis 13-year-old hero’s transformation.
Ady, a 13 year-old boy, no longer listens to his father, who raises him alone in southern France. The father running out of resources, decides to entrust Ady to his uncle Amadou for the summer. Uncle Amadou and his family live across the Mediterranean Sea in Burkina Faso! There, at 13 years of age, one must become a man but Ady, persuaded to go on holiday, understands things differently.
