CANADA , Quebec | 88 minutes | 1998

A visual extravaganza set in the vastness of the desert that shook up Quebec cinema and seduced audiences worldwide. Worth a second look. Pascale Bussières is radiant, Alexis Martin delivers a sensitive performance and André Turpin’s gorgeous cinematography showcases Montreal and Salt Lake City. In 1998, Denis Villeneuve’s first solo outing made a huge splash on the Quebec cinema landscape. The originality of his voyage of discovery had a huge influence on Quebec’s Generation X, who found in it the freedom to take their place onscreen.
