une chapelle blanche

Simon Lavoie | 2005 | O.V. French | S.T. English | Quebec, Canada | 39min | color

Synopsis :

Before Le Déserteur, Laurentie, Le Torrent, Simon Lavoie made the medium-length film Une chapelle blanche (The White Chapel), a gem of a film crowned with a Jutra and the 2006 Critics Award. Hélène Loiselle, playing an elderly woman watching the chapel she has always admired from her house repainted, personified by the fine nuances of her expressions, nostalgia and subtle worlds rock. A great role for a great lady, fragile and moving in one of her last film appearances. — Odile Tremblay
