Synopsis :

Presented with I HATE BUT LOVE

This once-in-a-lifetime event will feature music by the famous Montreal Japanese drum troupe ARASHI DAIKO.

Only a few fragments of this stunning classic have survived. Shozo Makino, father of Japanese cinema and his country’s answer to Georges Méliès, directs the first Japanese special-effects film.

A ninja, a kind of magician-slash-frog (!), and his wife who can turn into a snail do battle against an army of particularly evil bad guys. With Onoe Matsunosuke, a kabuki live actor and Japan’s first movie star (1,000 films between 1909 and 1926).
